We often get requests from our customers to stock self-raising flour. We have currently made the decision not to stock it as we used to find supplies went out of date.
All is not lost….
Self-raising flour is easy to create yourself at home: It is merely a mixture of Plain flour and Baking powder.
Use the proportions of 150g/5oz/1 cup to 2 teaspoons of baking powder.
Simply mix the ingredients together and sieve to ensure that the baking powder is evenly distributed in the flour. You can then store this mix for using in recipes which require self-raising flour.
Please be aware that baking powder does have a use by date and after this time it is less effective. Make sure your flour mix is used within this timescale.
Happy Baking!
